What is a Contraindication?

A contraindication is a condition which makes a particular treatment inadvisable. Please review the information below and confirm you do not have any contraindications before scheduling an appointment. If you are currently under the care of a physician for a serious medical condition, please consult your physician before starting any therapy. After each therapy, please drink plenty of water.

Contraindications For Our Therapies

COLON HYDROTHERAPY - Anyone with a serious health condition should first consult their physician or health care practitioner before scheduling a colon hydrotherapy session. Contraindications for the use of the Angel of Water colon hydrotherapy system include, but may not be limited to: recent colon, rectal or abdominal surgery, congestive heart failure, intestinal perforations, carcinoma of the rectum, fissures or fistula, severe hemorrhoids, abdominal hernia, renal insufficiency, first or last trimester of pregnancy and cirrhosis of the liver. Professionally administered colon hydrotherapy is otherwise very safe. To prepare, refrain from eating or drinking about 2 hours before your colon hydrotherapy session.

MASSAGE THERAPY - Acute conditions requiring medical attention such as anaphylaxis, appendicitis, cerebrovascular accident (CVA), diabetic coma, insulin shock, epileptic seizure, myocardial infarction (MI), pheumothorax, atelectasis, sever asthmatic attack, status asthmaticus or syncope; acute pneumonia; advanced kidney, respiratory or liver failure (a modified treatment may be possible with a physician's consent); diabetes with complications such as gangrene, advanced heart or kidney disease or very unstable or high blood pressure; Eclampsia; fever of 38.5°C (101.5°F) or above; hemophilia; hemorrhage; post CVA or post MI where the condition is not yet stable; severe atherosclerosis; severe and unstable hypertension; shock; some highly metastatic cancers not judged terminal; systemic contagious or infectious condition.

ION CLEANSE THERAPY - Anyone with a serious health condition should first consult their physician before scheduling an ion cleanse therapy session. Contraindications for ion cleanse therapy include, but may not be limited to: people who have pacemakers or other battery operated or electrical implants, pregnant or breastfeeding women, people on medication to prevent rejection of a transplanted organ, people who are high blood pressure medication, people who are on blood-thinning medications such as coumadin, people who are taking medication for an irregular heart beat, or people who are on chemotherapy treatment. Professionally administered ion cleanse sessions are otherwise very safe.
